Shadowing someone as they work means to follow them around, watching them and listening to them.
Shadowing can be a good way to learn about a job and find out the skills you need to do it.
You should pick someone who works in a Travel & Tourism job which you don’t already know much about. Arrange to shadow them.
Once you've finished shadowing them, ask them any questions you have about their job.
This girl is visiting a kitchen to shadow a chef. She is watching how he works.
Watch some of the Stacey Dooley Nine to Five programmes to learn about different jobs.
Chat about what you like about the jobs and the strengths and weaknesses of the people trying them.
Read the My World of Work page about the Tourism and Hospitality industry.
Use the job profiles to learn about some jobs you haven't heard of before.
For this outcome you will need to make three job profiles.
Each job profile should have:
The name of the job
The main things that people have to do for that job
You can pick any job that is to do with travel and tourism. You might choose a job that you learned about from shadowing, one that you read about on the My World of Work website or one you found out about whilst watching the Stacey Dooley programmes.
You can work on paper or digitally. Once you've done this outcome, you can give it to your teacher who will check if it passes.
