Scotland, UK, Europe & the World
Tourists visit places which are close to them (like going on holiday in Scotland) and also places which are far away.
In these units you'll learn about places in Scotland the rest of the world which tourists might want to visit. You'll also learn about how tourism is changing. You'll learn about the good and bad bits of tourism.
To finish off these units, you'll plan a holiday for a customer.
Task 1
Pick a country in the world. Type into Google “Visit ______” and use an official website to see what there is to visit in that country.
Task 2
Explore the VisitScotland website and make a map of all the places in Scotland you’d like to visit. You can collect a map of Scotland from your teacher.
Task 3
Pick a different country in the world. Type into YouTube “Travel ______” and watch some videos to see what there is to visit in that country.
Task 4
Use the Newsround website to find out about tourism in the news. Make two lists - one of stories which are good things about tourism and one list of bad things about tourism.
