This week's source is a video. This might make it a little harder as there's not one "author" but instead the people and organisations that have put the video together. You might want to consult the credits at the end for the main names of people involved.
The video focuses on the impact of climate change on the AMOC - the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation. It builds on your understanding of ocean currents and climate change from Higher.
Videos are referenced slightly differently and the OU guide you used last week doesn't include much helpful information. Try this instead.
For this week, we're going to take a break from the graphical data and have a look at the Geographical Study.Â
This piece of folio work is worth 40% of your overall grade for Advanced Higher. You'll pick a topic to collect data on, with enough scope to examine several research questions. It can be on anything geographical you might be interested in - and many successful studies include some data collection via fieldwork.
This week you should look at some of the examples of Geographical studies which are available on the SQA Understanding Standards website. As well as the examples, there are also commentaries from markers which give information about the marks they achieved and how they got them. We'll come back to this website a few times during the year as we work through producing your Geographical Study.
