Geographical Knowledge

In your Advanced Higher exam, you might be asked to analyse factors or give reasons associated with content from the Higher course. One of the Global Issues that we didn't study is River Basin Management. This is a case study based topic which looks at:

Physical characteristics of a river basin
Why there is a need for water management
How sites to manage that water are selected and developed (usually dammed)
The consequences of water control projects

Use the Higher Geography BBC Bitesize pages to learn about river basin management, taking notes under the above headings.

Geographical Study

This week we'll look at annotated overlays and sketch maps. You can find these on the Maps & Diagrams page.

Geographical Issues

At your tutorial this week, we'll confirm your choice of sources for your issues essay. Next week you'll begin the process of writing by working on your summary of source 1.

There is no further work to do on this if your sources are appropriate.
